Started refereeing middle school and high school basketball for New Haven District Board 10 of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO) in 1990.
Attended various Referee Camps over many years in many states to help improve basketball rules knowledge, court and game awareness, communication skills with coaches and working with many officials from different parts of the world.
The 1st African American President of New Haven District Board 10; 1999.
The 1st African American Rules Interpreter for Board 10; 1999-2014, before stepping down because of college schedule demands.
Primary training instructor for new referee candidate classes, in addition to continually educating approximately 300+ Board 10 members every year.
Member and Chairman for Board 10’s Better Officiating Committee, member of Executive Board and Mentor-Mentee Program.
The 1st African American Rules Interpreter for the State of Connecticut for all District Referee Boards (approximately 1,100 referees) from 2007-2014.
Member of the Rules Committee for IAABO that represented CT at the National Federation of High Schools in
Indianapolis, with IAABO’s National Rules Interpreter.
Worked in the NBA’s first minor/development league; NBDL (now G-League) from 2000-2002.
WNBA Referee: 2001-Present, working playoffs and Final games.
NCAA Men’s Division I Referee: 1999-2014, conference tournaments games and Championship games.
Division II/III: 1994-2014
NCAA Women’s Division I Referee: 2015-Present; conference tournaments and various Championship games, as well as NCAA Tournament; and the 2022 Sweet 16.
